Entering Central Station this week I saw a loosly cobbled together set of pallets, an old bike, some placards, and a banner with the word ‘Trident’ on it. Thinking that CND had cleverly managed to comandeer the concourse of the station to coincide with the debate in Parliament about the renewal of Britain’s Nuclear Weapons, it took the handing out of chewing gum samples to make me realise that this wasn’t an anarchist get together, but a carefully stage managed guerilla marketing drill. Not that it wasn’t still fittingly appropriate, the gum tag line being ‘mastication for the nation’, (unless these good people can do something about it).
