Wodcast launch

After the News/Off-brand have just launched a new site, wodcast.org. The site is a podcast project about the future world of design, featuring interviews with prominent design professionals. It is a resource which designers and design students can draw upon, intended to provoke discussion and debate, and the interviews are focussed on looking forward to future design challenges and how the world of design and related fields are evolving and changing.

The first interview is with Peter Saville, and more interviews will be added over the coming months.

  1. Hi Neil. Great project. Well done. That was a really thought provoking podcast that illustrated perfectly the paradox of the individually minded designer in a corporate role. I’m actually not at all surprised that Adidas accepted Mr. Saville’s shoe suggestion. Their aim when collaborating with prominent designers is to align themselves with the avant garde and specifically distance themselves from the tedium of conventional branding. Subversion of brief and brand achieves this quite effectively and in this case, also produced an aesthetically very unique product. What’s really interesting though is who’s actually buying these shoes and do they see the irony?
